November 13

The English Teacher
by Yiftach Reicher Atir

MEN INVITED
Jettie Kootman hosting

To understand the life of a spy, join us on November 13th as we discuss The English Teacher. This novel revolves around the story of Rachel, a young woman recruited into the Mossad. The author, Yiftach Reicher Atir, a former Brigadier General of Intelligence in the Israeli Army, does not  glamorize any aspect of spying. He presents a realistic picture of agents involved in living a double life: loneliness, anxiety, problematic friendships, assumed identity and dubious deeds. We also gain insights into the informers and targets. Rachel Ravid (Goldschmitt, Brooks) disappears after completing her missions with Mossad. Ehud, her handler, is brought back to scan through those years. The concern is that Rachel may divulge events the Israeli government doesn’t want revealed.

Men are invited and welcomed to our discussion. Please join us promptly at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 13 at the home of Jettie Kootman. Please RSVP by calling Jettie at 602-689-0115 or e-mail her at jettieaz@aol.com.  She will provide her address and directions.
