The Lost Letter
by Jillian Cantor

(Tucson author on Zoom)

Jillian Cantor will be virtually presenting The Lost Letter, my favorite of her very popular books. The dual, but very fluid, storyline link presents a WWII stamp engraver who disappears during Kristallnacht and, fifty years later, a young woman who is searching her father’s past during the time of the removal of the Berlin Wall. The stamps, used on letters, had become a means of aiding in the resistance. The central mystery is the unopened letter with a striking stamp addressed to the name Fraulein Farber. The thought-provoking theme of this book is resilience, as is the theme of many Jewish stories during hard times. But this book also contains a romantic, epic love story that is equally well presented. Although fiction, with the characters and plot created by Jillian, the background is filled with the seamless and intriguing weaving of real historical events.
