"What's the fuss all about? - On Jerusalem, our land & our people." 

by Dr. Matthew Karlovsky, MD 

Dr. Matthew Karlovsky, MD, is a proud member of CBT, along with his wonderful wife, Lisa, and children. 

He is a world renowned Urologist, and he is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Banner Desert Medical Center and Chandler Regional Medical Center. 

He received his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine and has been in practice for many years. 

He also speaks multiple languages, including Spanish and Hebrew.

Dr. Karlovsky is a sought-after speaker for many national and international conferences on Medicine.  

Dr. Karlovsky is a passionate Zionist who is well-versed in the history of our People and our land. His love for our people and for Eretz Yisrael is contagious and we look forward to learning from him on this topic!

Dr. Shiri Etzioni, is a proud member of CBT, along with her wonderful husband, David (who is also a physician) and children. 

Dr. Shiri Etzioni, MD, specializes in Hospice/palliative Care in the Scottsdale area and has over 18 years of experience in the field of medicine. 

She graduated from Albany Medical College Of Union University with her medical degree in 2000. She is affiliated with numerous hospitals, including Mayo Clinic Hospital (AZ) and more.

Throughout her medical career, Dr. Etzioni has witnessed first-hand countless miracles and stories of hope and faith from people on the verge of death. We are fortunate to have Dr. Etzioni speak with us and share with us a glimpse of that which she is fortunate to encounter every day - the resilience and glow of the Divine soul in each and every human being.

Dr. Miriam Menaker, MD, is the proud mother of Rebbetzin Esther Allouche, mother-in-law to Rabbi Allouche, and grandmother to their children. 

She is a trained gynecologist and homeopath. Her interest in homeopathy began in Israel with a series of lectures on the topic from world-renowned Kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh, who praised homeopathy as the most profound tool to heal a person's mind, body and spirit.

She currently forms part of the California Center of Homeopathic Education where she completed four years of homeopathic education. Dr. Menaker follows a natural lifestyle based on organic and fermented nutrition that heals, beautifies and prevents disease. She currently practices homeopathy in Miami, Florida.

"On Keeping Kosher & Being Kosher: A lesson from 'Kli Cheres'" 

By Rabbi Yossi Bryski

 

Rabbi Yossi Bryski is the happy husband of  Shterni, and father of their beautiful children. 

He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He studied at the United Lubavitcher Yeshivoth through high school and graduated with a NY Regents diploma. He then went on to study at the Beit Hamedrash of Yeshiva Gedola in the Golders Green community of London, England. When he returned to the US, he attended the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, NJ. As part of their exchange program, Rabbi Bryski was sent to establish a Yeshiva in the Old Jewish Ghetto of Venice, Italy, where he prepared for his Semicha. 

After extensive study of various sacred works including Talmud, Kabbalah and Halacha, Rabbi Bryski received his Rabbinic Ordination from Rabbi Gershon Mendel Garelik, the Av Beit Din of Italy, Rabbi Noam Wagner, the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Ohr Menachem in Johannesburg and Rabbi Shmuel Ashkenazi, chief rabbi of the Kfar Chabad community in Israel.

After his marriage, Rabbi Yossi and Shterni lived in New York for 18 months and attended Kollel. In 2003, they moved out to Scripps Ranch in S. Diego, CA, where they served as Rabbi and Rebbetzin of the local area for nearly 3 years.

In March of 2005, the Bryskis tragically lost their son. In the years that followed, Rabbi Bryski visited various communities to deliver a talk about this life-changing event. 

The Bryskis moved to Scottsdale in 2007 where they became Directors of Adult Education at the Jewish Learning Center. 

In 2014, Rabbi Bryski assumed the position of the Head Rabbi of Young Israel of Phoenix.

"Lessons on Life & Living - A tribute to Rabbi, Dr. Abrami." 

by Scott Stein 

Scott Stein, is a proud member of CBT, along with his wonderful wife, Brooke, and children. He is also a devoted Board member of our congregation.

Scott is also a business and real estate deal attorney and focuses his practice on real estate, sales, leasing and development, corporate transactions, structuring and strategic planning, loan financings, and hospitality matters.

Scott has been a Super Lawyer Rising Star since 2012, and has been named among the "Top People to Know in Commercial Real Estate" by AZRE (Arizona Commercial Real Estate) magazine. In addition, Scott Scott has been featured in Attorney At Law Magazine as the magazine's first "Sole Practitioner of the Month." He has also included in the 22nd Edition of The Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate Law.

Mr. Stein is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Real Estate Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court and United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona.

Mr. Stein also volunteers his time to a number of community organizations, including the Valley Eruv Project, the Pro-Israel community and the State Bar of Arizona Volunteer Lawyers Program offering pro bono assistance in a variety of matters. Scott and his wife, Brooke, are also the co-Presidents of the Brandeis University Alumni Club of Arizona.

Rabbi Allouche is married to the most wonderful Esther, and he's the proud father of nine children. The rest is all details :)

"Inspiring Shavuot Lessons we Learned From our Year in Scottsdale, AZ," by our Steinsaltz Ambassadors, Mattan Salter & Hilel Aaron Attia 

After a full year, of giving of themselves to our community and beyond, our beloved ambassadors, Mattan Salter and Hilel Aharon will share with us some life lessons they learned from their experiences, from their holy work, and above all, from YOU. 

This is a unique opportunity to hear and journey with our amazing young men into their lives, their experiences, their interactions, their shlichut, their souls.

One-one-One Study & Tikkun Reading 


Continue the night-study in a group or a Chevrutah, and explore some of Shavuot's major texts from the Torah and Talmud, regarding the Giving of the Torah, its 613 commandments, and their relevance to our dauly lives.
